NetPath is designed to illuminate the path between your monitoring source and a destination by showing each hop along the route and collecting metrics at that hop. This means you see latency and jitter for every hop, along with whether that hop is reachable. It also provides a real-time view of the path from the NetPath collector to the target, so you can observe the current route and any changes as they happen. In addition, NetPath reveals per-hop loss data and can show route changes over time, helping you pinpoint where problems occur along the path. Because of all this, the statement that NetPath does not expose hop-by-hop information is false—the tool intentionally provides hop-by-hop visibility rather than only end-to-end metrics.
